Thursday Shout Out: Local Love (part I)

With our very first self organized holiday sale at the schoolhouse fast approaching (we’ve been working hard, folks!) we decided what better way to celebrate all the awesome artists and artisans who have agreed to join us than in our Shout Out? So here’s the first installment of some of the peeps who will be with us on December 4th!

Heather Reid Clothing

Heather Reid is a clothing designer, maker, and, not coincidentally, Mackenzie’s Mom. Her clothing is often hand painted, always unique, comfy as all get out, and stylish to a fault. Working with cotton, wool, and fleece she creates outfits and single pieces that are as eye catching as they are functional. Ready for work, ready for fun, or ready to just look good on a casual weekend, Heather Reid Clothing has a style all its own.

Wabi Sabi Jewelry By Dorothy Bittner

Working with copper, precious metal art clay, and elements of design pulled from nature, Dorothy Bittner’s jewelry is organic, unique, and one of a kind. Her work is inspired by “just about everything” from the Atlantic Ocean, the lithographs of Alphonse Mucha and Arthur Rackham, Ancient Greek Mythology, the blossoms on the apple tree outside her studio window, the lyrical poetry of Dar Williams, Edna St Vincent Millay, the Indigo Girls, Pablo Neruda, and Tom Waits, Dorothy creates organic jewelry that mimics the beauty in nature and spans the ages.

About meatbagz totes

Mackenzie is an award winning pie maker, a fast driver, and a screen printing mastermind. Kate is a designer, occasional neat freak, and tea drinking madwoman. They both believe in the power of good karma, air banding as a valid form of exercise, and that getting your hands dirty is a good way to keep your soul clean. Together they make up Team Meatbagz.
