Well, we here on the east coast (and, specifically, in northeastern New York,) survived ye olde hurricane/tropical storm Irene. Oh, Irene, you soaked us and blew our trees around like crazy, but we’re thankful that you weren’t any worse to us than you were. A shout out to all the peeps who got hit really hard, and for those of you who weathered it better than expected. Hopefully you’re all safe, dry, and recovering.
Creamy LeMuse Raincoat by LeMuse. $129. Heck, if we’d had this beautiful raincoat, we would have ignored the dire weather warnings and strutted our stuff on the rainiest streets in town! We love the clean lines and signature style of this beauty-how could you not? Put those parkas away and splash in the puddles in style, darn it. Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean your fashion has to suffer.
Pumpkin Umbrella Rhythm 2 Tone Blue & Turquoise by DiCesareDesigns. $200.84. Okay, we admit, most of us can’t spend $200 on an umbrella…but if we could, this would totally be the one we’d go with. First of all, how cool is that design? Graceful, unique, and so gorgeous you’d never leave it in the car “because it probably won’t rain”, this is a prefect example of functional art.
Polaroid Rainy Day Diptych by evaPhotos. $32. This diptych pretty much sums up the sweetness and excitement of our childhood rainy days. Thunder crashed, lightening struck, and the rain poured…and can you remember how absolutely amazing those powerless, candlelit nights were as you hung out with your family and played board games? Sweetly innocent and completely stunning, these Giclee prints come mounted and ready to hang, no matter what the weather.
Vintage Rubber Ducky by thankyoulucky. $15. Can’t beat ’em? Join ’em! There comes a time during every storm when you either rage against the tide or go out and play in the rain-either way, the weather won’t change until it’s ready to. May we suggest you take the more enjoyable of the two paths and bring this little guy along for the fun? He’ll happily bob around in the shallowest puddle, and he’s sure to bring a smile to your face on an otherwise dreary day.
