Thursday Shout Out: We All Rule

We have a thing for crowns. That’s no secret. And no, it’s not a “we’re queens of everything and must be obeyed” type of attraction, it’s just, well-crowns are just intrinsically interesting, that’s all. So much symbolism (and often so much bling) all wrapped up in that circle…Well, we could go on. But we won’t. Instead we’ll share these cool crowns that we’ve found and love on Etsy.

Artisan Handmade Large Crown Slide by thehappyjewel. $5.20. Thehappyjewel says that she loves the rustic, organic quality of this crown-and we have to agree. There’s no obnoxious “pretty in pink” happening here, it’s just appreciation for the simplicity of the crown shape, plain and simple. The way we like it, really. Toss this baby onto a necklace or bracelet and you can proclaim the fact that you rule in understated beauty.

Felt Crown Where The Wild Things Are by TheRiceBabies. $25. Let the Wild Rumpus start! Let’s face it, your own Wild Thing will tear apart your house just like he or she always does…but when they’re wearing this crown chances are you won’t be able to get too mad because they’re just too stinking adorable. Awesome, thy name is Max.

Winged Skull Buckle/Distressed Metal Belt Buckle by WATTOonline. $85. Dudes, this belt buckle is just badass, in the coolest possible way. Crown? Check. Skull? Yup. Wings? Nailed it. We love the stylized take of an often overdone image and how it makes it completely new…and completely worthy of rockin’ on the old belt.

Linen Pillow with Slate Grey Crown by greenplumdesign. $75. Crowns don’t have to be all hard edges and rigidity, and frankly, that’s what we love about this pillow. Hand sewn on this yummy linen, this we love the fluidity of the design, which complements the softness of the pillow perfectly. Hey, even those of us who rule need to rest our heads sometime, right? Right.
