Thursday Shout Out: Japan Relief

I have to confess, I was all set to do a cheery green St. Patrick’s Day shout out, but it all seems pretty silly and meaningless when you consider the tragedy in Japan. There are, of course, many ways to donate to the relief efforts-thoughts, prayers, and sympathy not being the least of them, either-but a large number of Etsy sellers have stepped up and donated their wares to do their part. So instead of writing up clever little descriptions convincing you just how awesome all these products are, I’ll leave it at this: These artists are all immensely talented and immensely generous-by supporting them, you support others, and receive a wonderful handmade product to thank you for it. Please consider purchasing one of these amazing pieces.

Pair of Throw Pillow Covers with Hand Painted Cherry Blossoms-Organic Cotton and Bamboo by derilyn. $69.99. $10 of this or any other sale of two hand painted throw pillow covers goes to the Red Cross until April 31st.

5×5 Watchbirds Print Matted to 8×10 by abcdimages. $12. This print’s price has been marked half off, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme Alumni Association (JETAA), a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. For more information on this please check out the listing.

Two Dotty Teacups by KoideStudio. $20. 50% of proceeds from any items sold in this shop will be donated to the Northern Japan Earthquake Relief Fund at http://www.jcccnc.org/.
