After all, isn’t that one of the main raisons d’être of blogs? For people to toot their own horns? And here we go, because after a long dry spell (or at least what felt like one) we’ve got new bags in the shop, we’ve got new designs, we’ve got fresh motivation, and we’ve got exciting things on the horizon.
We’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite among our long awaited European bags, but this would probably take the title. Vintage hemp, gorgeous shape, and just the right size for a slightly larger every day bag…yup. We’re in love. Kate wasted no time in snagging one for herself (hey, it was missing a clasp, so it was TOTALLY unsellable, okay?) and hasn’t looked back since. In fact, she has been regularly campaigning for the order of approximately three hundred more…”just to have on hand”. We’ll let you know how that goes.
Oh, and our cool new tree design? Love it. After messing around for quite sometime, Mack had the brilliant suggestion of having the silhouette of the crown nestled among the leaves, and viola! Meatbagz perfection.
Our aptly named “Whiney Bear” design is new too, and even though he’s not entirely sure about this whole “ruling” thing, he is sure that this vintage Czech military bag totally rocks. Let’s be honest-they had us at “wooden toggles”, but the rest of the bag is just as cool. Full of interior compartments and with a nice, thick strap, it’s comfy and convenient* (*pretty much our requirements for any article of clothing or accessory).
Oh yeah, and did we mention that we have the same style in black? Because we do. Beautiful, beat up, awesomely vintage black canvas. And we put our new octopus design on it. And it looks fabulous.
There’s plenty more of vintage awesome goodness where that came from, too. We’ve got the majority up in the shop now (and boy, do we enjoy looking at that beautifully full shop!) and a few up our sleeves. We’re excited-we’ve been waiting for this for a long time, and it’s great to have things in motion.
And speaking of getting things in motion, we’re in the poppytalk handmade market again this month! The theme is “Mad March” and anything goes, and darn it, we feel like that’s a perfect fit for Meatbagz. Holy moley, there are some truly amazing artists this month, and this screen shot shows just a few. Seriously-if you’re looking for an amazing handmade gift, or just something to reward yourself for surviving this winter, go to poppytalk. We promise you will find what you’re looking for (even if you didn’t know that’s what you needed).
As for the stuff on the horizon, well, we’ll save that for a future post. Rest assured, however, that it will be tons of fun and right up the Meatbagz alley.
