Meatbagz, Meatbagz, Everywhere….

We have a confession: we were beginning to doubt ourselves. Team Meatbagz has never claimed to have all the answers, something which the  world was more than happy to remind us of on Black Friday. Sure, we had some sales (which we are extremely grateful for).  But not as many as we were anticipating/hoping for (because, let’s face it, we were dreaming big).

The weekend was quiet. Again, a few sales, but no big rush of adoring fans shouting “MEATBAGZ!” now that they were awoken from their tryptophan stupor and having survived the early morning sales of Friday.

Alack and alas, had Meatbagz run its course? Had the Meatbagz love dried up? Had we sold Meatbagz to all that wanted them?

We were beginning to think so. In fact, we went so far as to wonder if it was all worth it (hint: it is).

Then we got this in our inbox:

Can you spot the Meatbagz? Yes. Etsy had us right there, bottom row right, in an e-mail going out to all the etsy fans out there. And ye olde orders for our compass bag (which we were beginning to think was this year’s gnome tote) came a-rollin’ in.

And then, for the cherry on top, Poppytalk had a feature on the Storque blog, complete with our bull bag in the “Winter Dude” collection:

Ah, yes. We’ll gladly take this as a cosmic sign that while we may question our dreaming big for Meatbagz, we never know who’s going to help us on our way.

Thanks for the reminder.

  1. You could say you had an awesome weekend! I saw the blog mention and the Etsy finds was in my inbox as well. Congrats to you both!

My store was slow this weekend also. Am I giving up, hell no! I’m just finding a few minutes here and there to go into my listings and shape them up, fix the pic, the tags, ect.

Over the coarse of the weekend my items were chosen to be in some beautiful treasuries, and I love getting that email. Especially for items I just listed like two hours prior, must be doing something right.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us….

    • Thanks so much! Yes, the internet has been very kind to us this month…just when we were beginning to wonder if everyone who wanted Meatbagz already had them, no less. Just goes to show, never give up (and never pretend to know what the future will hold)! Hope those treasuries brought you lots of sales!

  2. I’ve always wondered…how much traffic/sales did you get from being featured on the Etsy Find email?

I figure it is a big deal to get in one of those emials.

    • This is the second time we’ve actually been in one, and both times they’ve been a huge boost to us. Those blue Dude bags hadn’t sold AT ALL before the etsy e-mail, and we figured we would be selling them for years. But as soon as we got the exposure from etsy they started selling (thankfully)!

Thanks for stopping by the blog, too!
